As part of the group exhibition "Cash on the Wall" at the Stiftung Kunstforum Berliner Volksbank, Markus Huemer launches an NFT collection on 15.2.2022, 12 noon CET. These NFTs refer to the painting "I Could also Have Painted You All a Smaller Painting for a Lot of Money" from 2006. Each NFT is based on a digital reproduction of this painting and reworked in several layers. The resulting image exists as an NFT only (1/1). And from each of these digital images of an NFT, an original physical print with a handwritten signature is produced in the edition 1 + 1AP. The recourse to a painted image, that each NFT is only edition 1, and that the NFT is the certificate of an original print, critically illuminates the relationship between original artwork and NFT. Collectors who acquire an NFT will receive a physical print signed by the artist.
